If you search online, you are bound to find so many successful people and famous celebrities stating that they do meditate. Does meditation improve your life? The answer is yes.
Many scientific studies have been done and they have found relationships between meditation and the state of mind. You would have heard of normal people who have mastered the ability to regulate body temperature under very cold environment, a feat recorded by Wim Hof of the Netherlands, known as the Iceman. He attributes his achievements to his method of breathing and meditation exercises. Tibetan monks who practices ‘tummo‘ meditation (inner-fire) are able to warm their body from within under very cold environment.
I am not asking you to be a monk. I am asking you to make time for yourself, away from everything and sit in a place where no one is able to disturb you. Give yourself 15 minutes. Sit comfortably and focus your mind to a place where you find peace and happiness. To do this, you will keep your eyes closed. Breathe slowly, relax and you will begin to hear your heart beat.
Take your time. You have nothing to run after at this moment. Slowly but surely, you will find it rewarding. All you need to do is find your time to meditate; either before you start the day, midday or towards the end of the day before you go to sleep.
For some, the journey through meditation awakens them in a spiritual state. They also learn to meditate in repetitive words or mantras. Other however, just falls asleep within the first few minutes! Meditation is a state of rest with conscious awakening. If you need a catnap, do so, but this is not meditation.
So, when is the best time to meditate? Anytime actually, although yoga practices do offer some alternative options.
You don’t need to wake up at 3am to sit and meditate for your general well-being. Neither you need to find a cave to do so, unless you seek isolation from this worldly matters. All these are for people seeking different journey in their life experiences.
Start meditating to help you find balance to a better mental and physical state to achieve your success.
Before you commit yourself for others, do it for yourself first. Meditate.
