Reversal of Disappointments

I have spoken about how common it is for someone to have disappointment. The expectation based on your thoughts did not have similar outcomes. It either sounds like a setback or worst still, no progress can be achieved thereafter.

In some cases, you actually already expect the outcome and are not surprised by it. However, you were hoping for some form of miracle or changes that could make your anticipated outcome to be otherwise. These scenarios that are brought forward by you to yourself, are situations where the failure is already predetermined without actual effort taken place.

We do most of the time visualize the possible outcome, being part of reasoning before starting anything. For some people, they jump in without any boundaries and take corrective actions where possible, to the situations they face. They take it as a challenge, to face as it comes and have the resilience to overcome it stage by stage. Their strong will power and risk-taking nature puts them at the edge of their challenges, where most other people would remain jittery.

Disappointment is not an issue. It happens and there is something that you can do about it.  You can either face it, take it easy or do not make a big issue about it. Remember that your state of mind and emotion relates quickly to the state of your disappointments too.

Please inculcate Positive Attitude within you to overcome disappointments. You need the ability to refresh your mind and stay refreshed always. There will be times you will feel soggy but remaining in such circumstances will not lead you anywhere except your poor well-being.

Remaining in the state of disappointment and brooding about it is not going to help you. Learn to ‘Switch-Off and Off-Load’ your constantly negative feelings. It is not a method to just hide away what you feel, but to totally remove it from your thoughts so that you can make progress with yourself.

You need to understand what triggers you to your disappointments. You need to recognize it, as for some people, their self-suppressive behavior decides to hide their reality and they progress to self-inflicting traumas. Others seem to believe that some form of intoxication will help them greatly, which of course is not true at all. Denying your personal well-being when you can, is an act you put upon yourself to justify the reasons why you cannot move on, and easily tell others why they don’t understand what you are feeling. Wake up! You are better than this.

When your ability to offload becomes better over time, you can deter yourself in giving space to accommodate your disappointments. When this space shrinks, you do not easily take into a state that weakens your ability to make progressive and positive changes within you.

‘Switch-Off and Off-Load’ is not a state of being in denial. It is when you recognize your failures, take corrective actions and move on with confidence. The baggage that you thought was a continuous burden, remains null and void. Being in denial is an act of being negligent and foolish to yourself. You have the resources within you and around you to get you back on the right track. Reach out and ask for help, if needed.

Learn to use your ‘mental magic-bag’. You have seen where magicians pull out something out of their bag which sometimes can be flabbergasting. Pull out someone that you know, who has the experience or know how to help you quickly overcome the issues you are facing. Their experience will shorten the process of your redirection towards achieving the positive objectives you wish to accomplish.  

Remember to use your magic-bag wisely. Do not be excessively dependent with your support person. You do not need to reach out to them for every little thing that comes across your mind. Independence means intelligence applied towards your reasonings. You make your efforts to remedial first, list down what you have done and what you are planning to do next. Then, if and when you need help or guide to progress to the next level after you have done these steps, pull out your magic-bag. You will become really resourceful for yourself.

Reversal of disappointments is a Positive Attitude you learn to acquire. We all go through moments of disappointments and no one are exempted from it. You need to identify the level of your expectations. If it is something you can list as a goal, then you can list down the tasks needed to achieve it. That’s how you make progress. If and when you hit a stumbling block, you will be able to see it as an opportunity to improve and find an alternative or remedial paths.

Life is full of challenges. Without it, you do not easily find a purpose to your drive and determinations. Keep an open mind. It is a window that allows you to refresh your thoughts and recalibrate your mind and body to a better disposition to help you achieve your goals.

Let’s be practical. Some goals will take a long time to achieve, some immediate, and some will not see the planned outcome. Do not be overly disappointed. It is your ability to learn from these outcomes, giving you the resilience and the strength to replace your negativities. Your positive self-visualization is your gift. It will be able to re-energize yourself.
