So, you are afraid about going for your MRI scan. You do not like closed space and the thought about going in an open tunnel with limited space to move gets you really worried. You are trying to find a valid excuse to miss your appointment, but still need to go as your doctor insist to do the MRI scan to find what is wrong with your recent chest pain. You need to anyhow overcome your fear.
An acquaintance of mine was having minor numbness in the left hand and also had dizzy spells, that for a moment came in loss of consciousness. After visiting the general practitioner, some medication was given and the diagnose has been just too much stress, need to exercise more and reduce some weight too. As it was just a one-off incident, not any much attention was taken thereafter. Unfortunately, about two months later, it crept up again and started to become more frequent. A full CT scan showed two significant blockages in the arteries of the heart. An angioplasty procedure whereby an artery stent was placed inside the vessel to allow better blood flow.
The moral of the story is that we just do not know what is going to happen to us tomorrow. Worrying is not going to help, especially now that the doctor has highlighted a heart condition. You are now becoming more afraid to go for your usual long walks, being more confined to work and home, looking grumpy and it says it all in your face. Suddenly, you start wondering if you are having sufficient finance to backup your family in case something more serious takes place in your heart, on death or if you are bedridden. None of this actually happened but you are already visualizing it.
Worrying makes it difficult for you to heal yourself.

Remember, I asked you to learn how to visualize? Yes, you need to do it with Positive Attitude. Having fear has its benefits time to time. Overcoming fear with Positive Attitude allows you to plan your paths well and fine without having worries to cloud your judgements. Fear triggers the though to indicate that some form of danger is apparent if no constructive and positive approaches are made to overcome it.
When you just keep worrying about your fear, it just a mental and emotional torture for yourself. You know what is a mirage? It is an optical illusion that is quite often seen in the desert. You believe something is out there and by the time you come close to it, what you saw in fact is not real. Similarly, is your worrying; do not energize it.
You are planning to start a small business venture within six months. You have drafted out a good business plan and analyzed your return of investment. You asked a few people for further advice and have sufficient savings to back you up on your basic liabilities, for a year at least. However, you are worried if starting a business and leaving your current comfortable job is a good decision? You wonder what happens if you fail.
You keep running many scenarios of failures based to the market trends, even before taking the first step in actually running the business effectively. To add fuel to fire, some of your friends and relatives got to know about the idea and they asked you these discouraging questions, “Are you crazy? You want to leave your good job and start a business? Have you thought about your family? How selfish can you be? You must be nuts ! ”
Welcome to the real world. Even if you are not afraid of anything, someone around you is all ready to discourage you from the start.
It is like someone being told that she should think many times before getting pregnant and bringing a child into this world. There are so many negativities told that you may be asking yourself, “Am I sure I want to be pregnant? What if I am not going to be a good mother? The expenses of bringing up a child are just atrociously high and I don’t think I can afford it ”. Ask yourself if any of these feedbacks being constructive and helpful. Did your parent and your ancestors stop bring up children, generation after generation for any one of these reasons?
Just worrying about failing will hamper your ability to succeed. I have seen many who had followed this retrograding path. Fear opens up your uncertainties, but fear should not be your downfall. As long as you are willing to face your challenges, you have a successful path ahead. You will reap its fruit.
Be confident of yourself. Imagine yourself as an unadulterated person and you will see great potentials within you.
