A good friend of mine asked me to write more about human sufferings. Let me start by quoting what Pierre Teilhard de Chardin who had the simplest explanation for your birth. He said, “ We are not human beings having spiritual experiences, we are spiritual beings having human experiences. ”
If you read most religious theology, many interpretations are available. Hinduism and Buddhism explain the cycle of life through your birth, sufferings and rebirth. You may most commonly relate the undoing and experience of life as an act of karma. The final goal of these religions is to find enlightenment, where your soul finds its path back to the creator and being free from rebirth. Simple as it sounds, the complexity of it all will prevail in their religious texts, if you are hardy enough to study them all.
In other religions, it says that your ability to elevate yourself from evil and its temptations, brings forward you to heavenly paradise. Judgement day as it seems, will raise them from death to answer for their sins. We can dwell more on topics related to religious theology, but please allow me to refrain from this. As I have said before, religion is a personal belief system.
You do notice that everyone is not equal. So is suffering. This is the reality. You do not get to choose your birth and your existence is real as you see it.
Social levels for example, mainly creates job function for one to exercise its demands. It becomes the footprint of your living experiences. You are attuned to head towards this direction, mainly because you are either told to do so by your parents, peers or someone out there. In many societies, if you are born within a social standing, it informs the level of permissible movements and interaction with others. It can be either elating or demeaning.
The reality to human sufferings is pretty logical.

If you eliminate the existence of religious theology or ‘God’ for the moment, you will realize that you are not bound by the burden of conscious thought. You do not need to worry that you are doing something wrong and will be punished for it, or simply said, the act of Karma. Your birth, social unjust and problems that you faced, will be revered as an unseen punishment or consequences of a past that you do not know of. That is how Karma is portrayed.
If you are someone religiously inclined, you will normally be pondering most of the time of an ‘elusive lifeline’. You worry that if you did not commit yourself to some form of devotion, you are doomed even further. This impractical fear becomes your downfall.
By now, you should be able to understand, that what you do is what you get. If you were born with challenges, it was an abnormality in your genes. If you were born in the midst of slum, or in a wealthy house, it is random probability. The outcome of both circumstances is not predictable prior to your birth. However, what you decide to do, will imprint the failure or success throughout your lifetime.
Does this mean you will be suffering continuously? It depends, actually. Some people claim that they are suffering, when they did not get a Mercedes-Benz but they got a Camry instead. Others are blaming that their neighbor seems to be minting money because they randomly go travelling overseas for holidays. When you get a promotion, some of your colleagues will whisper amongst themselves that you have been pretty close with certain bosses.
The Pandora’s box of negativities will always be there, spilling out the beans, time to time. Whether you like it or not, it is going to stand in-front of your doorstep and attempt to glue itself to your perceptions.
I will give you a simple example. Watch this video of Nick Vujicic for a moment. He is an Australian-American born without arms and legs who became a world-renowned speaker. Tell me, what does he have in advantage compared with you? Let me quote his exact words, “ It matters how you are going to finish! ”. If Nick Vujicic is able to overcome all his challenges above and beyond the norm that is presented to his life, why can’t you?
Humans most commonly ponder more than they need to. When I asked you to eliminate the factor of ‘God’ for a moment in your life, the ‘guardian angels’ within your mind already triggered an alarm. Your disarrayed thoughts gets provoked, even for the simplest negative event that took place. It could have been something negligible, but you cannot let it go. It becomes pertinent for you to find an answer that will pacify you.
Human sufferings are made of triggers.

You provoke your mind to think of it.
If you have read so far, I am both impressed and pleased to see that you have what it takes to make positive changes within you. Human sufferings, like anything else is part and parcel of evolution. Realize that it is not about you at all.
In due time, most critical and labor-intensive work tasks will be taken over by single-purpose robots, androids and systems that are managed with artificial intelligence. For people who are born in upcoming timeline, they will experience with new sets of challenges. The progressions are continuous.
If you take some effort in visualizing the possible future, then there is a possibility of reaching a state of utopia, where there will no longer be great disparities. Medical technologies will bring forward babies that are born to near perfection, gender selection will no longer be an issue, social distribution and order may still remain without great disparities. However, that is a future that you and I, may not be reborn in.
If you are still in the loop of pondering with critical thinking and equally patronizing yourself with your own sufferings, let me lead you away from such directions. If you are able to inculcate within yourself the following consciousness, then you will lead a path to overcome your challenges.
- Meditate.
- Inculcate routine exercises too. it is still a form of meditation.
- Do not procrastinate. Do Good, Be Good. Do not expect anything in return.
- Remove anger, uncontended greed and unjust lust.
- Remove fear of the unknown. It is path to your downfall.
- It is not about you. Learn to be contented with the simple things in your life.
- Be happy with what you have, not what others have.
- If you have love to share, be that so. If you can share your food, that is better.
- Neglect the belief-system you have been inculcated. Freedom of your mind is your own choice and no permission is needed for it.
- Disowning your belief-system brings forward your Self-Awareness and Self-Consciousness. Both are essential tools that work hand-in-hand.
The steps noted above is the reality. If you are going to ask about your spirituality, you will come to realize it on your own, soon enough when you have passed the above journeys.
When you begin to become conscious of your self-awareness, you are awakened to experience a journey, that harmonizes with many others of the same in nature. You might come across people of like mindedness. You will also find comfort in having an intellectual conversation and realize the commonness in your comparative thought patterns.
Human sufferings is no different than the birth of day and night. It will always be there and prevails as a part of the evolution that we journey through. Give it no importance, and you will enjoy the day for its brightness. Give it no priority, and you will enjoy the night, awaiting the waxing and waning of the moon. On both accords, it is not what happening out in space that matters, it is what that happens within you that brings light and awareness of your consciousness.
Are you ready for your journey in finding your inner peace?
Stir yourself with thoughts that you can succeed. Don’t dissolve your determination.
