Why we procrastinate? When you attempt to move forward, setbacks make you fall back. In an attempt to justify your actions, you begin to procrastinate. You put off or delay what you need to do immediately or timely and give an excuse to yourself and the affected parties.
Get out of this loop. Do not procrastinate. It is an addiction that sucks out your resources.
In deep space, you can compare procrastination to be in likeness to the center of a galaxy that drags any objects down to its spiraling hole. It is a massive black hole. Astrophysicists believe that the black hole is where gravity pulls so much that even light cannot get out!
So, if you procrastinate, you don’t get out of it, but go deeper and deeper into the unknown. You will possibly begin to also lie to cover up your mistakes and find more excuses for your delays.
Let me give you another example. You should think like being in a quicksand. When you fall in it, you will start screaming, panicking and moving too fast. In such actions, you begin to sink deeper into the quicksand and if no one rescues you in time, you are drowning. However, if you stay calm, let your lungs buoyancy help, you look to your surroundings to see how to reach out for help and to get you out of this mess. If you fell near the edge of a quicksand pit, most likely your escape is easier. If you fell in deep center, it is going to be a greater challenge indeed, but still possible.
My analogy to procrastination is for you to keep reminding yourself the following statements:
- I am not going to fall in the quicksand.
- I don’t want to spiral myself deeper into more self-made problems that demotivates me.
- I will harness Positive Attitude and continuously energize myself. I can and I will remain consistent.
There you go, another simple approach to not complicate yourself with your baggage.
Life is a blissful journey. Not about karma and false astrological repercussions. It is about how you construct your thoughts to keep a consistent approach to living your life to the fullest. I can provide all these practical tips, but in the end, it is you who are going to decide on this change that will elevate you from your gloominess.
Stop procrastinating. You are only hurting yourself and your integrity.
